Ripple Effect Journeys: Tanzania
What starts as a single drop can create waves of change. Through the Ripple Effect initiative, StormWater Pros continues to extend its mission of Conserving Water for a Sustainable Future beyond our own communities and into places where clean water truly transforms lives.
Recently, two team members, Jill Pederson, Business Development Manager of Construction, and Ryane Scott, Corporate Marketing Manager, traveled to Tanzania, Africa to see the impact of the Ripple Effect in action. Partnering with ROAM Humanitarian and Water For Life Charity, the team joined a group of volunteers dedicated to empowering communities through clean water access, education, and service.
Witnessing the Power of Clean Water
During the trip, Jill and Ryane visited villages where Water For Life Charity has installed wells and distributed water filters. One of those wells, located in Kikatiti, Arusha, Tanzania, was funded in part by StormWater Pros. It now provides over 5,000 residents with safe, reliable water. Before its installation, women and children walked miles each day to collect water from unsafe sources. Today, that water flows freely within their community clean, accessible, and life-changing.
While distributing filters, Ryane sat beside an elder who gently tapped her on the shoulder, pointed toward the new filters, and smiled. With just a few words, she said, “This is good. This is really good.” That moment captured the heart of the Ripple Effect, proof that care and connection can cross oceans and languages.
Beyond Water: A Journey of Service
The experience went far beyond wells and water filters. Jill and Ryane worked alongside the ROAM Humanitarian team to build homes, deliver supplies, and visit schools and orphanages throughout the region. They saw firsthand how access to clean water creates opportunity, children able to attend school, families growing gardens, and communities thriving.
Each visit was a reminder that the Ripple Effect doesn’t stop at a single project. It continues to grow through every act of service, every volunteer, and every drop of water that brings health and hope.
Creating Lasting Change
Returning home, Jill and Ryane shared stories and photos with the StormWater Pros team, connecting the mission in Tanzania to the work we do here every day. The Ripple Effect is more than a charitable program—it is part of who we are as a company.
Every project, whether in our own neighborhoods or across the world, contributes to something bigger: a sustainable, compassionate future built on care, community, and clean water.
