From Monopoly to Movement
How StormWater Pros Reengineered the Drywell Industry in the Southwest
When StormWater Pros entered Arizona in 2013, the drywell market was controlled by a single provider, with outdated designs and no competition. Contractors had no choice in provider, engineers had to follow the same limited specs, and innovation had stalled.
We changed that by bringing engineering-driven solutions, transparent pricing, and higher installation standards. By introducing pricing pressure and improving installation quality, we gave contractors and municipalities a better option - and the market responded. By 2023, Arizona’s drywell industry had grown into a $60M+ market, with broader adoption and increased trust. Total market spending increased, proving that competition accelerates industry innovation.
In 2024, we entered California and found a similar story. For over a decade, one installer operated as the sole provider of drywell systems. Through education, design clarity, and maintenance support, we’ve begun shifting perception and reopening the market to drywells as a viable solution.
As we expand in California and Utah, our focus is on growth, market education, and long-term sustainability. In a region battling drought, runoff mismanagement, and groundwater depletion, we view drywells as a path forward.
Today, our PureWell™ system is widely specified, and our impact continues to expand across the Southwest. Drywells aren’t just drainage—they’re a tool for water conservation, aquifer recharge, and long-term sustainability.
