imPACT in Action: Corey Chernko – Courage. Safety. Skill.

Courage in the workplace can take many forms. Sometimes it is speaking up when something is not right. Other times, it is stepping forward when no one else wants to. Most often, it is about consistency, the people who show up, take initiative, and quietly lead by example.

This quarter’s imPACT Award for Courage goes to someone who embodies all of that and more. Corey Chernko does not just rise to the occasion, he sets the standard.

Corey is one of our top drillers, an excellent welder, and now serves as our Technical Drilling Trainer. In this role, he is helping define what great field performance looks like, training new team members, and leading the charge as we roll out a new process to bring all crews onto the same page. His leadership is both hands-on and forward-thinking.

Whether it is helping a fellow driller troubleshoot in the field or stepping in to support the mechanics, Corey is always willing to go the extra mile. His leadership is not about the spotlight. It is about impact. And it is recognized by everyone around him.

“He always has a good attitude and makes the best out of the worst situation. He carries himself very professionally and keeps showing up, working hard every single day. That takes courage.” – Leadership team

One of the most exciting initiatives Corey has been involved in is the development of our new safety plate system. These custom-fabricated plates are being tested on active job sites and were designed with both safety and presentation in mind. Corey has been instrumental in their fabrication, field testing, and design input. These plates not only improve crew safety by increasing distance from open holes and allowing for permanent guardrails, but they also bring a clean, professional look to the site that reflects our high standards.

While we are still in the prototype and testing phase, early feedback has been incredibly positive. We cannot wait to share more about these plates once they are finalized and deployed company wide.

Through all of this, Corey remains steady, positive, and focused. He takes pride in his work, speaks up when it matters, and sets a powerful example for others to follow.

That is courage in action. And that is why we are proud to recognize Corey as this quarter’s imPACT Award winner.

Congratulations, Corey. Your leadership, skill, and commitment to safety make a lasting difference.
