🛠️ Project Spotlight: Solving Stormwater Challenges in the Daybreak Community – South Jordan, UT
At StormWater Pros, we pride ourselves on being more than just contractors — we’re problem-solvers. One of our latest projects brought us to the vibrant and growing Daybreak Community in South Jordan, Utah, where we had the opportunity to help address a serious drainage issue that was affecting residents' homes.
🏘️ The Challenge: Protecting Homes from Flooding
Several homeowners in the Daybreak Community had been experiencing flooding in their basements and front porches during storms. The existing drainage system was falling short — water wasn’t being effectively directed toward the community’s drainage basins, and the grading failed to support proper runoff management.
What started as a drywell installation for the City of South Jordan soon turned into a broader opportunity. While working with the City, we connected with the Daybreak property management team and introduced them to our full range of stormwater solutions. After assessing the drainage issues firsthand, our team submitted a proposal to revamp the existing drainage swales — and got to work.
💧 The Solution: Swale Rehabilitation
Our team completed a targeted repair to improve the function and flow of the existing drainage swales. The scope of work included:
Removing the existing rock, piping, and geotextile fabric that were no longer performing effectively
Installing new geotextile fabric and perforated PVC piping, designed to connect home drain lines and leach stormwater efficiently
Rebuilding the swales with drainage rock to encourage infiltration into the pipe system
Regrading and redirecting water away from the homes and toward the designated community drainage basin
This retrofit not only resolved the immediate flooding concerns but also reestablished long-term stormwater resilience in the neighborhood.
✅ Results That Matter
With the new system in place, Daybreak residents can rest easier knowing their drainage is doing its job — protecting homes and reducing the risk of future flooding. It's a great example of how our team collaborates with municipalities, HOAs, and property managers to deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions that make a difference.
