Meet Tanner Waters: Partnering for Success in Utah

At StormWater Pros and PipeView Services, our team is the cornerstone of our success. Today, we’re spotlighting Tanner Waters, our Partner and Vice President in Utah, whose journey from the oil fields to a leadership role at PipeView is a story of grit, growth, and vision for the future.

Background

Born and raised in Riverton, Utah, Tanner's career began in the oil and gas industry shortly after he graduated from Riverton High School. Driven by a spirit of adventure and a strong work ethic, he spent five years drilling and maintaining wells across North Dakota, Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana. In 2015, Tanner returned to Utah, transitioning into the construction industry. Working with excavation companies on residential and commercial projects, he crossed paths with PipeView, collaborating on pipe inspections for his installations—a connection that soon opened a new door.

Today, Tanner brings his extensive industry knowledge and passion for the outdoors—along with his love of hunting, fishing, and family—to his leadership role at PipeView.

Joining PipeView

In 2016, Tanner joined PipeView as a laborer, back when it was a tight-knit team of three: Tanner, the owner, and one other employee. Tanner's commitment, quick learning, and skillfulness earned him a promotion to operator. By 2018, with PipeView under new ownership by Joseph and Justin, Tanner took on expanded responsibilities, stepping up as the crew lead and handling operations management. Over the years, he grew into the role of Operations Manager, leading two full crews and overseeing daily business operations.

A New Chapter: Partnering with SWP

In 2023, when PipeView’s owners, Joseph and Justin, decided to pursue new ventures, Tanner was managing a growing team of nine. When they presented the opportunity to acquire PipeView, Tanner felt ready. Through discussions with Brig Christensen, the CEO of StormWater Pros, he saw the potential for partnership and growth. Having collaborated with Brig on past projects for SWP in Utah, Tanner knew their shared values and work ethic would make them a powerful team. By early 2024, Tanner and Brig had solidified their partnership, merging SWP’s support and resources with Tanner’s vision for Utah’s future, resulting in a significant step forward for both companies.

What Tanner Loves About Working for SWP and PipeView

For Tanner, working at SWP and PipeView is about feeling valued and recognized. Since the merger, he and Brig have worked side by side to achieve impressive growth and success. Tanner appreciates Brig’s experience and guidance, making their collaboration a winning combination.
